Shot through a 1000 mm telephoto lens, double-glazed windowpane and curved car windshield, Caviezel photographs are subjected to distorted and reflected rays of light, giving the images a certain atmospheric distance and detached perspective, and emphasizing the interior details of the car and the behavior of its occupants. Organized into different categories--displays of affection, eating, exasperation, strange objects in the front seat, inspecting one's body--these images capture the portions of our lives played out in car seats, and the strange behaviors we have developed to pass the time in transit from point a to point b." Seems very cool! I guess you'd have to call this the ultimate in street photography. 1000mm lens! I don't have it yet, but asked Santa for it. There was a brief but positive preview of it in American Photo magazine several months back. Berube michael, on a related topic... i recently saw a book called 'red light' at a local borders. it is made up of a series of tightly cropped (telephoto?) black and white images of people sitting in their cars stopped at red lights. the photos resemble ethnographic body posture studies and are quite interesting, especially as a group. have you seen it? guy ******************************************************* The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
