Help!

I purchased a Jupiter 3 for use on my Leica IIIa and found it would not
screw down all the way.

I tested the lens on a Leica IIIc and a Leica IIIf and found it mounted
properly on both.   My Jupiter 9 works fine on the IIIa.

Is there something different about the IIIa threads compared to the IIIc and
the IIIf?

Please advise.
