Tristan,
You'll never get over it carrying the camera in a bag. Get it out and
hanging on your neck like a tie "all the time" eventually you'll not
even think about it being there, but always at the ready. Or at least
have it hanging on your shoulder whenever you go out as part of your
clothing.

Besides walking around with friends at your early stage of carrying an
M6 only detracts from seeing and shooting, better you go alone and
quietly observe life around you. When something motivates you, "camera
up, click, camera down!" See, now that was easy wasn't it and it didn't
hurt a bit.

No go out alone, take your time just observing what's happening before
you.
