The reason I suspect we have our quite and our noisy days, is because we're not a half hearted group. Most people here do have to say something. sometime a bit louder than others. With 700 or more different personalities, this is bound to happen. The main thing is, that things always calm down again after a while. Most successful marriages are like this. I also can't really believe, that the Leica CEO would be such a simple person as not to see the whole picture. CEO's are not normally known to be simple minded. It is just possible, that they can not see a commercial advantage courting the LUG. They're loss. I believe the LUG is such a great and diverse body of people with a lot to say. Not always Leica ,thank god. The diversity of subjects which are often displayed is refreshing and keeps the interest alive. Sooner or later, even with out of topic subjects, someone manages to bring the Leica thread back in to it. A group or club which only allows a communication restricted to a very narrow topic, (even if the name of it is points to it) ends up to be boring and finally folds. Just imagine, you've joint a club. Say a Dog club You'll find normally, that when the main topic after the first hour or so has passed, the talk moves away from it, to topics like: "Does anybody know a cheap source of wood for my Kids Cub house?" This then is normally the topic for the rest of the evening and often privately after. At the next meeting, it starts all over again with the main topic. Regards Horst Schmidt
