A mechanical camera would be consistent with
the mechanical lens operation they are likely to
stick to whether they like it or not and at least
they could tout a unique set of virtues with
a flagship manual SLR even at very high price
(together with rather than instead of a cheaper
auto body like the R8) instead of a mish mash of
  underfunded obsolescent products.

and be happy with it, as I'm not gizmo
	oriented.
The matter is selling such an item "on the floor"
against "all bells & whistles" competing models:
that requires better qualified sales personel.

Then, where is "good" photography headed ?
The tools may define the medium, up to a point,
as the digital capabilities expand, either within the
	camera itself or "post-production" software
and hardware, also possible avenues for Leica,
though I'd favor retaining the quality and mystique
first, and cover other bases with appropriate
	offerings derived from in-the-field experience.

I expect Leica to survive and sure would like to
see their year 2025 general catalog and muse
over it for a few weeks !

	Best regards,
