In fact, in my checkered family, there counts my Grandmere, originally a 'Chapin'- supposedly a member of Lafayette's crew, or one of the crew of one of his ships- and every generation had a child named Lafayette, the last one I met was Lafayette Cox, a stange and wonderful man who came to visit when I was but a child. French was always studied in school, and I had many of my families books- in French. I listen to Radio Canada, en Francais, et ecoute le a temp avec 'CHU Canada'! I must have been influenced by the propaganda of the 'other side' :o) To paraphrase Napolean- " Ze damn English- zay are so damn sneaky!" ( Now I have to apologise to Jem , et al!!!) :o) I also had trouble at one time distinguishing between Flemings and Waloons, so please forgive the gaff, or should I say, "faux pas"! Anyway- LEicas speak an international language, sort of like mathmatics ( I recall Dr, Morrell, a lovely lady who immigrated from Cuba- and still was mastering the English language- her favorite phrase, after putting some gawdawful formula on the blackboard, was to turn and ask, "Joo understood dat?" I must have, because I made "B"s in her class, even though I never really was good in math, and really enjoyed college algebra and trig. I learned more math with that lady than I had ever learned before- And to stay on topic, I have learned more from you guys (this includes Tina, too- she one of us guys, too, you know!) in three years on the LUG, than I've learned in all the other thirty years of playing with cameras!! Incidently, even though I kind of wish Canada were the 51st, 52nd, 53rd, and 54th state, it always had just a touch of the 'foreign' about it! I always enjoyed my few visits there- of course it was always in the Summer! Wonderful people (as long as you don't try bringing a bag lunch with an apple in it!!), and pretty good brew! So, Robert, accept my apologies- along with all you other friends in the Great White North (Egads, I got through without calling anyone a 'Canuck'?" :o)- Cheerio! Dan( Une vielle boule de suif sans cheveux!)
