It is probably true that most aesthetics is as useful to artists as 
ornithology is to birds.  However, at the risk of prompting further mental 
activity of a low order, readers may appreciate and wish to discuss the 
rudimentary but thoughtful work, "The Nature of Photographs," by Stephen 
Shore.
