For example none of the current 50mm Leica lenses deliver the look of my c. 1950 f/3.5 Elmar. For B/W photography I *love* this lens. For years it was the only Leitz product I used. On my personal scale the older lens smokes the latest & greatest. Higher resolution, ASPH elements, etc. amount to little or nothing in this context. - -Dave-
