The only "cure" I found was putting black tape over the framelines window (this is the culprit)--but then the framelines disappear. So the compromise solution is to have the black tape extend over the framelines window at an angle, but not cover it up--like a little shade or awning. That does the trick (it also, however decreases the brightness of the rangefinder patch--but better that than a useless flared-out patch).
