Subject: [Leica] Leitz ELDIA question

I chanced upon an unfamiliar gadget in a little shop
nearby, something that calls itself a Leitz ELDIA,
and which looks like some kind of copy/duplication device.

No instructions in evidence, the shopkeeper could not
shed any light.

Anybody out there know what this thing is and how it
is used?
