Hi Tom

I have owned a couple of R 80 1.4's over the years (both bought used) and
was disappointed in sharpness in both.I had to stop down a couple of stops
to arrive somewhere reasonably sharp and at that point you lose the value
of spending the extra $$$ for the faster aperature.

It could be said that this lens is ALL 'bokeh" :>))-at least from my 
experience!
