Andrew,

The Leica-R body is thicker than a Nikon body, so if there were an adapter you wouldn't get infinity focus.  The same is true of a replacement mount, unless you had a repair technician shave the barrel of the lens down a bit to compensate.  You'd also have to consider mirror clearance, which may be different.
