So I'd have to save up ANOTHER MILLION and THEN I could go on a spending spree: He figured I needed to get out more often. I've been assured that if I were to take $15,000 and move to Ghana, I could live like a prince and beautiful women would clamor for my attention: Sometimes, while working late at the office on a recalcitrant server, I have thought this might not be a bad idea at all. If I were filthy rich, I'd buy any camera that struck my fancy and eventually I'd have to hire someone to put all of those barely-used Rolleiflexes, Hasselblads and Linhofs on eBay because they were cluttering up the house too much and to friends I'd complain about how I missed the old days when I had just a battered M4-2, a 50mm lens and boundless enthusiasm for making art. ;-) I want a Nikon SP. but $2K+ for one? Dunno about paying top dollar for the pleasure of using old lenses.
