The LUG is NOT an auction house or >billboard. > > > > > > B. D. - ---------------------- I can only tell you my experences on e-bay, which has always been very favorable. I have purchased a Mint Demo M6, 28mm, 35mm, 90mm, 135mm and numberous books, magazines, leica filters and other misc. items. Most of the time the items are displayed with good photos of the actual item to be sold. Each item was sent promply and exactly as described in the ad. I have saved on average between 15% to 30% off the used prices from N.Y.C. camera stores. After all, they have to pay high store rents and operating expenses. As I view e-bay leica auctions everyday and spend a fair amount of time in Camera stores from N.Y.C. to Miami, I feel I know the current fair value price range of used Leica equipment. In a camera store or on e-bay. If only to get a feel for the current market price for leica equipment, one should confirm what leica items are selling for, over a few month period. I can tell you, I have purchased a mint, current leica M lens for 35% off the current price. I have used it for two months and it is perfect. The guy who sold it was disatisfied with the M6 manual system and sold off all his Leica gear. It happens. And if you are there and in the market for Leica equipment you get a great deal. Also, I recently purchased another M6 TTL body, demo in absolute mint condition with a one year Leica warranty for two hundred dollars less then I see advertised in Shutterbug Mag. It has been performing flawlessly. The bottom line is getting information on a good deal or finding a needed accessory for your leica system is valuable information and should not be shut down by those who don't like this on this list. Some on the list do want the information as stated by the supportive e-mails. I don't find many off-leica topics informative or interesting so I just scroll down to the next topic. I don't feel I should write a negative e-mail telling someone to stay on topic. Freedom of speech is good stuff, whatever the arena is. So, I'll put up with the stuff I think is over the edge and hope others will do the same if they don't like what is beening posted. Most of us are here because we want to hear about leica, leica, leica no matter how it fits the topic. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
