Jerry Olson over on Digital Silver is a super-duper obsessive grain sniffer (he puts you lot to shame) and he says that his piezo prints (from a 3000, using various watercolor papers), are 'better than a darkroom print by far'. The reason is pretty much the same reason that gravure prints in a book often look better than the actual prints (HCB is a classic example). It's not for the faint hearted...you have to be prepared to hotwire your printer and take all sorts of pain... but if you've ever seen any of Jerry's stuff you better believe he knows what he's talking about. - -- John Brownlow http://www.pinkheadedbug.com
