Back in the late 1980's, Ralph Gibson was quoted in Collector's Photography as
using only Tri-X developed in Rodinal.  Back in 1983 or 84 Ralph Gibson came to
my college..  He was going to give a lecture and talk with the students and
review student prints and portfolios.  He did nothing more the sit at a table,
barely nodding his head, saying very little, if anything at all.  He had a flask
with him the entire visit.  While most of us were a bit disappointed by the
apparent lack of interest on his part, I really do enjoy his work.  A friend of
mine talked with him in a similar setting where he was very much the open, down
to earth accessible photographer.  I aways wondered about that visit of his...
Anybody else have experiences with Mr. Gibson?
