My experience has been the opposite, but I use Nikon SLRs instead of
Canon.

In fact, after I get used to focusing in dim conditions with my Leica,
it almost seems like an autofocus when I go outside in bright light.
The rangefinder image is so bright, it seems very easy to snap it into
focus.  :)
