I have M2 #1143269 which is without ST.  I asked Jim Lager about this and 
other late M2's without ST.  Although I do not have a serial number range, 
apparently a number of these cameras were made on special order from Leitz 
Rockleigh.  They do appear in E. Leitz Rockleigh  catalogs as the M2X.
