However, if it were a camera of the first decade of the new millenium (recall that the rangefinder was a camera of its era and is so good that it still is a viable tool), a Leica medium format could be an appart that adavances phottography and as such might have mucht o recommend it. I imagine a Leica medium format should have autofocus (with easy handfocus as well), multiple focus points (like Canon and Nikon), it should have digital capability and room to evolve in that direction, it should have shutter, aperture priorities, program mode, manual. It needs TTL. I'm sure many of you could add to the list. Having said all that, I must admit that my M6 is so good, is so light, gives such detail, that I'm not sure I'd need a medium format. Then again, I love cameras and I might buy one if Leica kept the cost within reason and made lens of the same quality as it does for the M6. If I did buy the medium format, though, I'm sure I'd take a membership out at the gym so that I could be in better shape to haul the heavy camera around. doug nygren
