Indeed a great lens. It is possible to shoot without
a tripod but to achieve the optimal quality and to
admire the real beauty of the lens you better use you're tripod.
There is (almost) no difference between 2.8 and 4.0 in quality.

Also I have 3.4 as maximal aperture. Probably it does not matter
as long as you use automatic exposure (A, P or T) However if
you use manual exposure it gives a wrong value. Both 2.8 amd
3.4 give the same result in the viewfinder and this is the
only source you can use. To solve it you probably have to
fit the ROM. Others have same experiances? Roy?
