And I don't consider the presence or absence of a red dot a reason to buy a camera, lens, or tie tack. The questions are: Will the camera do what I need it to do? Is it will built - will it hold to the stresses to which I will subject it? Am I comfortable using it? In other words, is it the best photographic tool for me for the job I have to do. As to lenses: will the particular lens allow me to produce the image I want to produce, given the conditions in which I will be using it? Will it hold up over time? Oh, and with the lens, as with the camera, assuming the camera or lens is the most/more expensive of several available, is the quality gain worth the price differential. Red dots? Those are something to cover up on your camera and your face...:-) B.
