You can find one for about $6 (or by mail order from B&H if you can't locate it locally). They fit by friction INSIDE the circumference of the built-in lens shade in its extended position. To remove, retract the shade slightly and the cap pops off in your hand. Works for me; I prefer it to no lens cap at all, so I don't have to worry about the dreaded hole-burned-in-shutter shudder. Even more recently I had to replace the lens cap because it fell off at the slightest touch. The replacement cost 30 bucks! THIRTY BUCKS!...and it STILL doesn't work as well as the $6 snap-ons hanging on the generic accessories rack. Of course, the generics aren't offered in a 39mm size, so... I can get one of the old, reliable, push-on Leica metal caps for just ten bucks more...but it's too big for the new lens. Does anybody know of a lens cap solution for the new Summicron that doesn't suck? Craig Boston
