Subject: [Leica] Highly technical lens cap question

I'm appealing to the heavy-duty experts for this one (lissen up, Mr. Grant):

I recently bought a new Summicron with the built-in lens shade (mixed review
from me) and the plastic snap-on lens cap (yuck!).
Even more recently I had to replace the lens cap because it fell off at the
slightest touch. The replacement cost 30 bucks! THIRTY BUCKS!...and it
STILL doesn't work as well as the $6 snap-ons hanging on the generic
accessories rack. Of course, the generics aren't offered in a 39mm size,
so...

I can get one of the old, reliable, push-on Leica metal caps for just ten
bucks more...but it's too big for the new lens.

Does anybody know of a lens cap solution for the new Summicron that doesn't
suck?
