I believe it is the same problem you have. Here I was with my M6, three Leica lens and the system not operational. A nightmare. No solution, could not get it fixed in Paris or London. As I was traveling around, I could not sit in one place waiting for the part to arrive, if it would as promised. When I returned to the US, I sent it back to Leica. So much for mechanical cameras. If it was my Nikon I could have had it fixed in many shops in a major city.
