I've done a lot of aerial stuff, and generally have it down to a smooth operation, but sometimes it goes sideways. I was doing monthly progress shots of a large development near city hall here in Vancouver, and part of it included aerials. In wintertime the clear days when this is possible are rare, and you have to be ready to go on short notice whenever it clears enough. So there I was, starting my usual square pattern over the subject, when I stuck my head out of the window of the Cessna too far and the wind took my glasses off my nose right as we were passing over city hall. I got some pictures, and I took a bunch of extras, but the composition was marginal to say the least, and it was one of the few times that I got some complaints about my shots. Unfortunately, there were no more clear days before the shots had to be submitted. Also, this being aerials, I had taped my lens down re: aperture and focussing before going up so the shots were at least sharp. I didn't go to city hall to ask whether anyone had had any glasses drop in on them. Now I don't forget the glasses holder thingies anymore. * Henning J.
