Austin - I have the polaroid 4000.  I must admit with so many things to
do after work that I have gotten lazy and just use the 15 or so profiles
provided.  I'm lucky if i remember to change from scanning negatives to
slides some days.  i enjoy the scanner and have made decent B & W scans
which were not really possible with my old Minolta scanner.
