Hi everyone,

     I checked out "Free Spirit on a Troubled World" by John Phillips from
the public library.  John Phillips was an early photojournalist for Life
right before WWII and after.  Lots of pictures from before 1950 and he
puts an 'I was there' image to the era.

     Most of the reproductions from the late '30s in Germany seem to
be Leica images, but during the '40s and '50s he appears to mostly use
the Rolleiflex. 

     The photo reproductions are high quality.
