Hi Bill,

I've used both, extensively. And the Leicaflex SL Mot is hands down
winner in this, as it isn't even a contest!

I had more problems, break downs and just plain pi...d off with the
Nikon F,  than I ever had with the leica SL.  I worked both very hard,
three bodies with motors in each case. In fact it was the constant
problems with the Nikon F that finally committed me to Leica SLR cameras
and I've never looked back, it's been Leicaflex SL mot since 1968-9? 
With changes of bodies as newer models became available. Today R8 and
motor!  And I wouldn't consider a Nikon if it were given to me!

Too many bad memories of images lost and break downs just when one
needed the camera to be working like a wizard!
