A couple of weeks ago I was taking portraits of the first soccer team
for the day, in cold, foggy conditions.  I found that I was shivering
and couldn't hold the camera steady. The shots, @ 1/250th and f2.8, on
Reala, worked out OK, but I would have liked to trade a stop of shutter
for a stop of aperture.

After two teams like this I grabbed my Manfrotto long lens support
(#359) and removed the clamp at the end.  This gave me a telescopic rod
with a small ball head on the end.  I attached this to the M6 and, with
the other end wedged into my midriff tucked behind my belt, I had a much
steadier hand hold. I dropped down to 1/125th, cranked up to f4, which
became f5.6 a little later in the morning, and started humming.  Results
were good.

Manfrotto/bogen have a monopod pocket that fits on a belt(#090). One
could attach a neck strap to make a neckpod pocket.
