Other than this I not > sure. With extenders in place, ROM lenses (and ROM extenders, obviously) on the R8 will report the effective aperture setting. I.e., a 2.8 lens with a 2x extender with the aperture *ring* set to the "4" index will show up as "8" in the VF, according to some Leica literature I've read on the subject.
