Have any LUGer ever found a 40/2 CL or 90/4 CL lens that would not focus
accurately on an M ??

I never have.

If I recall correctly, there was an article several years ago debunking this
myth -- it might have been in the Viewfinder. Yes, I know the official Leica
story -- but is it accurate ??

Some people, myself included, suspect that Leica emphasized a CL lens
incompatibility problem that seems to practically never happen, in order to
keep CL lens sales from reducing sales figures of the then current 35/2
Summicron and 90/2.8 Tele-Elmarit. amazingly, the story is still working
because too many people believe what they read, instead of going out and
testing it for themselves!!
