I have had great success using windex on Q-tips and pipe cleaners to clean
the exterior metal on Leicas and other cameras. With the Q-tips and the
pipe cleaners, I do not get the surface wet and can use the soft scrubbing
action even in tight places without harming the metal finish.

I just cleaned up a very dirty IIIA that way.
