My solution is XP2. Very smooth, almost no grain, sharp.

It will allow you to capture an incredibly wide range scene.

Exposure strategy is simple, expose for the skin tones and the rest will 
fall into place. (I assume that people in the picture are the important 
part of the scene) Would dark skinned people be at Zone V? Or simply 
incident meter and let it happen.  I suggest you try it at 320.

Probably sounds too easy- but it works.
