I have heard the bokeh is not near as nice as the 75 (or the 50/1.4 either).
That, for me, is an important feature of the 75...>>>>

Well, Bokeh is a subjective measurement of course (there is no scientific
measurement for bokeh that I am aware of) but my own personal opinion is that
the 90 has better bokeh than the 75. In fact, I prefer the 90f2.0 pre-asph
(last version) over the 75f1.4 as well.

Now, this may just be a factor of the focal length and my personal taste, but
to speak like an artist for a moment I find it "less clumpy" than the 75's
bokeh wide open. Neither lens produces those crazy little distortion shapes
that some lenses do...but the 90's seem to give an even more creamy bokeh at
comparable aperture. Does anyone else find this and perhaps it is not such a
revelation?

I am not disparaging the 75 however. It is one of the better lenses Leica
makes -for sure- and I do own one personally and shoot with it occasionally.
It is a great portrait lens for the M and I think they could tell you it was
an ASPHERIC and no one would ever know the difference besides Erwin
...maybe.<ggg> It is the cat's meow.

I have tried to use the Voigtlander 75mm finder with that lens on my M6 and
it does a pretty good job. If you use the lens you might consider it....

My only other insight is that it is a lot more suitable on the HM body
because of the greater mag. equals larger frames. Same for the 90 of course.

I'm curious, how do you feel the 75 compares to the previous version 90?
Maybe I need convincing about this lens.<g>
