RE: [Leica] White dot on the bottom of lens cases?

My view is that the dot is there as a "leica mark".  They could have put a
triangle, star or hexagon instead but the circle is there to tell people
that "this is a Leica case."  

Any other manufacturer would be seen as copycats if they now put a similar
shape on their lens cases.
