I was vigilant in requesting hand-inspection for my film on the flights over (at JFK and in Singapore) but my resolve wilted once we began flying around the region, where luggage can get scanned up to three times per flight (entering the terminal, boarding the plane and on arrival by customs). We flew seven flights, so my film was hit numerous times, but after having it all developed I didn't see any damage whatsoever (apart from my own inexpertness). Was carrying all sorts of film: Velvia & Reala as well as Delta 100, 400 & 3200. The one place I didn't have to worry about scanning was the airport in Luang Prabang, Laos. The hand-luggage and passenger scanners sat dusty and unused just oustide the boarding area. By force of habit, however, we walked through the human arch as we went to get on our flight.
