The lens analogy would be correct if I said it doesn't matter whether you use good speakers or crappy speakers. But we're not talking components here. We're discussing whether to use .20 cent a foot cables which carry current quite freely and "cleanly" (whatever that means) or whether you use $60 a foot cables which carry current only infinitesimally better. Given a moment of honest reflection even the most die-hard audiophile/cable snob will admit that the difference between cables is not like the difference between cheap lenses and good lenses. In fact, all of the messages I've read in this discussion -- even those supporting super cables -- state that the differences are very subtle and take much training and a keen ear to discern. So let's remember that point when furthering this pointless debate. We are talking the final inth degree of difference here -- not the kind of dramatic differences that separate a cheap zoom lens and a top quality prime lens (or good speakers and cheap speakers).
