" wrote Christian. There is : the market. By observing the discount from the price of a new item. See the price of an used R camera and compare it to the price of an used M camera. For instance, in 1965, a M2 and a Leicaflex were sold at the same price in France :1500 FRF Compare with the price of the street today on the used market : 4500 FRF for the former, 1500 FRF for the latter if you find a buyer. Some quotations from the FNAC ( a french retail chain) : R3mot : 990 FRF (new in 1980 : 4500 FRF) R4 : 2000 (new : 7500 FRF) R5: 4400 (new : 12000 FRF)
