So my question is: whats the difference between the leica 35 f/1.4 ASPH and the 35 f/2 ASPH, besides a stop and about $800? Besides giving me an edge in low-light situations (which would in fact come in useful) does the 1.4 give me better performance at all stops?<<< ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, I could make a case that the current 35mm Summicron ASPH is the best all-around lens currently available to consumers for pictorial photography. Of course, this is a judgment call, and subjective, but as I say I think I could make a pretty persuasive argument for it. This would take into account: - --size and weight - --handling - --flare control - --build quality - --wide-aperture performance - --the camera it fits on - --sharpness - --speed - --focal length ...among other virtues. Both 35mm Summilux ASPH's are great lenses as well--nothing against them. - --Mike J. _PHOTO Techniques_ magazine www.phototechmag.com
