Moreover, to believe Marc's highly unusual interpretation of events,
you'd have to believe that many otherwise reputable photographers were
lying then, and lied when describing the events after the fact, and
moreover, that they all agreed to lie in concert, with no dissenting
voices from the independent-minded among them.

I don't think so either.

But, of course, when we're trying to recast history so that Leica and
Zeiss are always indisputably better than Nikon and anything else
Japanese no matter what, extraordinary measures of historical
interpretation sometimes have to be pressed into service.
