The image you output to the printer is a result of both the scanner's 
capture capabilities and the use of image editing software to prepare 
it for printing. The better scanner will capture more detail in 
transparencies due to its greater DMax. Preparing that image for best 
results in printing depends upon you, not the scanner.

Be sure you're using the SCSI interface card that Nikon recommends, 
that's the only caveat. I've heard of the LS2000 working with other 
cards but why not set the machine up for the best possible results?
