(snip) """"""""""""""""" When the leicaflex was marketed in 1965, there were already a Photomic ttl for the Nikon F and the Nikkormat with a ttl. So Leica moved already slowly. The interesting question is : why R8 sales have gone down suddenly in 1998 ? Whereas M6 sales have maintained the same level.
