I find the VC is good if you are shooting fair skinned people, while the NC is ideal for darker complexions. For outdoor shots the VC is more appealing while using flash the NC has the edge. They are ideal wedding photographer films, and a great pair. The only film that comes close in beautiful skin tones, is Konica Pro 160 (new film). Absolutely stunningly beautiful skin tone, but this is using flash. For outdoor fill flash or straight ambient light shots, the VC is better (IMO). - -----Original Message----- From: John Collier [mailto:jbcollier@home.com] Sent: Friday, January 14, 2000 7:49 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Portra VC on 14/1/00 5:04 pm, Jim Laurel at jplaurel@microsoft.com wrote: > So, I'm thinking of trying > Kodak's Portra 160 VC. Lovely low contrast but with strong colours and simply stunning skin tones. I do not know how they did it. I find the VC film's colour rendition too eye popping for my taste but try them both and see what you think. John Collier
