Speed is great, and all that, but a good point was made about the Nikon LS2000, the multi-scan for shadows is a major benefit. I hadn't known about that 'til I read about it yesterday.> Eric If you use photoshop (photoshop 5.+ is easiest) it is no problem to dual scan (or more), place all in separate layers, and do your thing. ps I have a Minolta Scan Multi (at 2850 dpi - ~30 meg files). Not fast. About 30-60 sec a scan on PC 400Pent2. But the results are impressive. And to those that might have judged the Multi early on, before they upgraded the software, be aware the sharpening now can be impressive. Sometimes to much (grain really brought forward). There is a manual focus that solves this but it takes longer to use. I bought it so I could scan 6x7 stuff. It scans 6x7 at ~1200 dpi yielding about the same size file as a 35mm scan. The 6x7 scan however, is noticeably cleaner. Dave Stratton
