Subject: [Leica] WWI courage of the soldiers

Bonsoir Alan,

A great many men fighting in WWI certainly showed much courage. However I
recently read that one of the reason soldiers jumped out of the trenches to
an almost certain death is that they were forced to do so by their own
officers. Those who did not comply immediately to the order were shot on
the spot. This might be old news to some, I read about it this summer and
was surprized to learn this.

Sorry for being off topic, then again if you look carefully at the above
paragraph you will find the letters l, e, i, c, and a hidden in various
words. Strange isn t it?

  Regards,

  Robert (Un chevalier sans blason)
