A according to the Leica annual report all sub-assemblies are done in 
Portugal with final inspections in Germany.  Has this been true in the past? 
If it has, then it doesnt matter what the lens says on it.
Products made in the USA are not 100% made in the USA but are still labeled 
as such.  Maybe some one knows what percentage is needed in Germany to have 
the Made in Germany label affixed.
