DR. BLACKTAPE HAS SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT THE RECOVERY OF TED'S CAMERA AND IT'S
AFTERMATH:

...The first thing to say is that Mr. Lau deserves some sort of
LUGER/Humanitarian of The Year Award for all his selfless dedication in
making possible the recovery of Ted's camera. The second this, which has
been repeatedly expressed here, is how incredibly lucky Ted is to be
recovering the camera - and not having to pay full-freight for a new one. As
to the subject of vengeance and payback - yes, Ted is having to pay to get
his own camera back. But if he had had insurance with any sort of
deductible, he would also have had to "pay" to get his camera back. Given
that the present "owner" is a hapless middleman in all this, doesn't it make
more sense to simply pay a fee for the return of the camera and move on. The
real thief will never be caught - and even if he could be, his capture is
unlikely to end thievery in KL or anywhere else. So let Ted enjoy his
incredible good luck without having to deal with KL cops and bureaucrats;
let Mr. Lau bask in the thanks and praise of Ted and his fellow Lugers; and
focus on the recovery, rather than hollow talk of retribution.

...And how's that for a pompous screed? ;-)
