I too have an affinity for older rangefinder and TLR cameras, but not older cars or SLRs. For those two I prefer the most current model in both cases. So I guess to each his own. Between us both we will keep the newer industries and collectible/used industries in business. Peter, No, I want one not so much because it is rare, it's because it is so beautiful. Besides, I did have a SL500 once. Sometimes, owning the current model of a product makes you appreciate its predecessor even more. Having also owned a recent Porsche, I am now hoping to acquire an early 911. And to stay on topic, I started off with an M6 years ago, but I have since learned to appreciate the M2/3/4. The newer offerings may be more efficient and easier to use, but I also find the classics more pleasing to my eyes. Just my 2 cents.
