It is a common and inexpensive accessory in Japan. I have been using generic black metal screw-in 40.5mm hoods on my CLE Rokkor 40/2.0 and 90/4.0 lenses for years - the original rubber hoods cracked years ago. I have also been using the same hoods on various Zeiss lenses for my Contax IIa/IIIa cameras. Also, B & H also has 40.5mm rubber screw-in hoods at $5.95 each. The rubber portion of this hood is larger than the original hood of the CLE and while it causes no vignetting, it obstructs the viewfinder to some extent and needs to be trimmed. If Horst and Jim are interested, I will ask my friends in Japan to help. Please e-mail me privately. Regards, Joseph
