Sounds like a fine idea, remember, you have your negs so you can always go
back and rescan, reprint etc. Another option is the HP Photosmart scanner
which while not quite the quality of the Nikon or Polaroid scanners, does
both film and 4x6 prints and is ~$450 ... even less for the older model. On
the other hand a cheap flatbed scanner can be had for $100 or so, even less
depending on what quality you want.
